What is Tute's ESOL offer?

ESOL Virtual School

The ESOL Virtual School is a set timetable of ESOL lessons, mapped to the adult ESOL curriculum and the Bell Foundation for EAL assessment framework for schools at primary and secondary level.

The ESOL Virtual School starts at pre-entry level and offers a route of progression to entry level 1 and on to entry level 2. Lessons are available to students of primary and secondary ages.

The ESOL Virtual School is suited to UASC and EAL students. Students may be starting from scratch with basic language acquisition or building on their language skills to enable better access to the British National Curriculum and life beyond.

The ESOL Virtual School can be used as an interim measure whilst waiting for places in local provision to become available or to provide ongoing support to students whilst they are in school.

Students can join our shared ESOL Virtual School timetable, at any point during a half term. Choose from programmes of 2 or 4 lessons per week at any available level and your student/s will receive login details within 48hrs of us receiving your completed booking form.

Progress and attainment are measured against the learning objectives set by Tute and are recorded for each student after each lesson in your Progress Tracker made available to you weekly.

ESOL Virtual School: £11.50 per student, per lesson.

Tute’s Virtual ESOL School is available as a shared option only which means that Tute determines the content, the timetable and your student/s will join others referred by other establishments.

If you require private ESOL provision, please enquire about this and we will be happy to help.

Tute Go ESOL

Our Tute Go ESOL is a six-week Everyday Language programme is designed for learners who have recently arrived in the UK with no, or very little, prior learning of the English language.

Resources are suitable for upper KS2, KS3 and KS4 students.

There is a strong emphasis on acquisition of everyday, spoken English for use in the community and in school, when a place becomes available. Topics will include an introduction to family, numbers, colours, names of common foods, places in town and shopping at a market. Students will learn to recognise and answer some simple questions about themselves along with responding appropriately to offers and social language.

In each lesson, there will be a focus on building on previous learning and developing learners’ confidence to use basic spoken phrases in the community.

Typically, students will be waiting to be allocated a school place and may be studying in their accommodation or a community setting.

Our Tute Go ESOL Survival Language is a six-week programme that restarts at the beginning of each half-term. Students can be enrolled into the programme on a half-termly basis and within 48 hours.

Each lesson builds on previous learning so we recommend that students join at the start of a half-term period.

Recognising that students may not have a laptop, the course caters to students accessing lessons by mobile phone.

Progress and attainment are measured against the defined learning objectives and recorded for each student in your Progress Tracker made available to you after each lesson.

Places in our shared timetable cost £15.00 per student, per lesson. Private lessons cost £90.00 each for up to 12 students, equivalent to just £7.50 per student, per lesson.

Tute Go ESOL is available as both private and shared provision options. Our shared provision timetable is aligned to relevant needs throughout the academic year and is a great option for students working at different levels or for a small number of learners. If you have larger numbers if you would like to choose your own timetable and topics, then Tute Go can be booked privately.
