Tute is accredited by the DfE
Students at the centre, standards across the board
Following an Ofsted visit, Tute is officially accredited by the Department for Education under the Online Education Accreditation Scheme (OEAS). We meet all the standards set by the DfE for online education – a powerful recognition of the quality we’ve built over many years.
Ofsted’s findings affirmed what has always been true: the student is, and always has been, at the centre of everything we do.
Inspectors noted that “Leaders and staff at Tute Education Ltd ensure that, from the moment of enrolment, pupils have every opportunity they need to succeed.”
What inspectors saw is best captured in the words of a pupil: “I don’t know what I would have done without Tute Education.”

Why it matters
For Tute, this accreditation by the Department for Education is an external seal of approval for the standards we have always upheld. It reinforces our mission to deliver online learning that is accessible, inclusive, safe, well-governed, and effective. It confirms that our partners can continue to rely on us with complete confidence.

From Vanessa Leach, Managing Director
What means the most, though, is that the report captured what really matters: our students. The whole narrative reflects that they’re not just present in our model; they’re the reason it exists. Every decision, every lesson, every system - it all begins and ends with the individual pupil and their journey. We’re proud that the report reflects that so clearly, because it’s who we are.”
- Curriculum quality
- Student experience and support
- Leadership and governance
Curriculum quality
Ofsted found that “Leaders have established detailed schemes of work which provide sequential learning opportunities.” Tute’s curriculum is broad and ambitious, grounded in the English National Curriculum and delivered through carefully sequenced schemes. Pupils study English, maths, and science, alongside a wider offer including humanities, PSHE, and creative subjects. Where needed, teaching aligns with external exam boards to support seamless reintegration.

Student experience and support
The Ofsted report reflects what we hear every day: pupils feel safe, happy, and seen. They value the way Tute makes learning accessible and enjoyable, and how staff help them believe in themselves again. Inspectors wrote: “Pupils are extremely positive about their experiences at Tute Education. They feel happy, safe and appreciate the lengths to which staff go in order to make learning accessible and fun.”

Leadership and governance
Ofsted concluded that “Leaders have established strong working relationships with the local authorities and schools who place pupils at the setting.” Inspectors found leaders across Tute have a clear understanding of both strengths and areas for growth. By mapping our work against the OEAS standards and embedding systems to drive continuous improvement, Tute has been positioned as a leader in online education.

Teaching and learning
Safeguarding and welfare
Safeguarding is at the heart of Tute’s practice. Pupils access lessons through our bespoke platform, where safety reminders appear before every session. Teachers remain alert to changes in behaviour – a necessity when most students don’t use cameras – and concerns are flagged swiftly and sensitively. As Ofsted noted, “Leaders have put keeping children safe at the heart of everything the setting does.”

What is OEAS?
The Online Education Accreditation Scheme (OEAS) is a Department for Education (DfE) quality mark that recognises online education providers who meet the highest standards in teaching, safeguarding, leadership, and student welfare.
Accreditation is awarded following a comprehensive inspection process that includes interviews, lesson observations, record reviews, focus groups, and detailed scrutiny of policies and practices across every area of provision. Providers are assessed against standards that cover everything from curriculum quality and safeguarding to governance and leadership.
The scheme is designed to help schools, local authorities, and other settings make informed choices about online education. OEAS accreditation confirms that Tute can deliver safe, high-quality, and effective learning to pupils who may need a different approach to education.
Tute is proud to have met these standards. OEAS accreditation offers our partners independent assurance that our provision is trusted, inclusive, and built to make a real difference.
