Schools can use technology to deliver additional teaching support directly to those students who need it most. Tom Bennett’s independent review on behaviour in schools concluded that the use of technology to proactively address behaviour management has not been given sufficient consideration. As Tom rightly says, we should be wary of using technology to merely pacify or distract students, but schools could in fact deliberately exploit technology to not only overcome some of the root causes of poor behaviour and increase attainment, and significantly lower the costs associated with doing so.
